Robert C. Babb is in his thirty-ninth year as conductor of The Southeastern Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a graduate of Mansfield University and New England Conservatory. He has studied extensively in New York City and Paris with Leon Barzin, a student and friend of the great Arturo Toscanini.
Maestro Babb is the founder, artistic director and conductor of the Granite State Symphony Orchestra; a professional ensemble that celebrated nineteen successful seasons. The Granite State Symphony Orchestra made its home in Concord, NH.
Mr. Babb has been creating musical excellence in New Hampshire as a conductor, teacher, and musician for over thirty years. He has been the conductor of The New Hampshire All-State Orchestra, regional festivals throughout New England, and Mr. Babb has served as conductor for the orchestral camp session of the Summer Youth Music School at the University of New Hampshire. Maestro Babb has also conducted the Palace Festival Orchestra at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH. Most recently Maestro Babb conducted the MA Junior DISTRICT Festival held on Cape Cod in the Spring of 2017.
